Welcome!

After years of having private blogs, I have finally decided to come out of the closet (of blogging that is).  Let me tell you a little about myself, my name is Cathy, and I am a formula feeding, early solids feeding, co-sleeping, attachment parenting, disposable diapering, couponing, non circumcising first time mommy to Thor Alexander, a delightful, yet impatient, 3 month old. You are welcome to ask me about any of these choices I have made. Some are due to extensive research and others may be more personal reasons. I am open minded and deeply value the opinions and experiences of others.

I am mostly a SAHM, but also work part-time as a daycare assistant and tutor ESL. I am hoping to eventually start a daycare at home. I am married to my middle school crush, Chris. I have extremely strong views on numerous subjects related to childcare. These might change as I go through the peaks and valleys of raising my first child.

The reason this blog is starting now and not three months ago is due to the lack of sleep I had the first three months of my baby's out-of-womb life. I had a C-section after 2 days of laboring, so I was wore out. Don't let anyone tell you a C-section is easy. The spinal tap was the most painful experience of my life, and I had to have it done twice, because I was shaking too much from the Pitocin they had given me earlier. Also the recovery is terrible, my back still hasn't healed.

The best advice I was given was to sleep when the baby sleeps. The first month he was eating constantly, doing nothing, but waking and crying and then sleeping. My first learning experience was that the more attention I gave to him when I was taking care of his needs, the less likely he was to cry. I'm still learning, but it is a lot easier than before.

Feel free to message me for any questions, advice, rude remarks or anything at all that strikes your fancy.

Cathy ^_^
